Wild apple
I tramped through the roadside ditch to get some of these small apples which have been glowing on hedgerow trees for weeks now. By the time we stopped most of the low ones were gone, probably to deer. S thought they might be crabapples, but now we think they are just small apples, growing wild. I have been taking photos of them, and their adorable defects. I am going to plant the seeds along our hedgerow, just for the perhaps of the future.

Eating Thistle Seed
Today's thrill, the goldfinches finally discovered the abundant ripe thistle seed on the plant just outside the back door. I got a few pictures through the window.

Moth on Yellow
This is from today's birdwalk in the woods and on the beach at Sturgeon Bay. There was a bee, too, but I like this photo the best. I have had quite a few lovely house moths this year, with delicate patterns like this and in brown, tan and ivory colors.

Another version
I flipped and cropped the version on my main blog tonight and am still not sure which one I like better. There always has to be a choice, doesn't there???
