On Chistmas Eve, we were treated to a free-form dance festival by granddaughters!

Miss Bianca square
I just found these more than 20 year old pictures and scanned them. This is Miss Bianca in life. She is named after the cultured mouse in the children's book.

N avajo Bracelet
The turquoise in this bracelet is called Bisbee as it is probably from the Bisbee mine in Arizona. Bisbee is a hard turquoise containing a hard matrix the color of chocolate. The bracelet is very fun to wear and goes with everything!
Donkeys on a hill
This is very Northern California, the hills, the grass and the late afternoon light.

The texture of oak leaves
These leaves (beside the Feather River) made me think of a very fine smooth leather, suitable to bind the most cherished books!

I want to be your boyfriend
I loved seeing this. All the girls were watching, even ones not in this photograph. In a recently harvested field of ryegrass hay in Emmet County, Michigan.

Peace, once more
This is something you can do with Photoshop--reduce everything in the photo to either black or white. By making adjustments you can see where you want the midpoint. This is one of my favorites using this technique, It reminds me to try it some more. And on this black background, the edge of the photo disappears. I hadn't thought of that. WILD!

Lotus heart squared
I found this difficult to believe. The center of the lotus looks like it was made from plastic or marzipan.

Reaching for a star
My granddaughter at the Monterey Aquarium. I'll see her again in less than two weeks! I'm going to run out of good squares soon, but doing this has made me interested in looking for more suitable for this crop. You need a certain kind of balance, which I think this demonstrates. (She said, modestly.)

The Fish Hopper
I almost lost the rest of the people in my party looking for a photogenic angle on this fish restaurant in Monterey, California. My maiden name was Hopper, so these signs pleased me.

Moonchild
This is one of my earliest attempts to combine photographs in Photoshop. It still pleases me and makes me want to work on this sort of thing even more. It is of Kiyoko's oldest grandaughter many years ago. Now she is all grown up.

The red door
At Thoreson's Farm, an art center and historic farm near the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Michigan, 2007
Canoe near sunset
From the Weber Lake excursion. If I had realized how handsome this canoe was, I would have taken more pictures. But I was busy trying to catch my grandsons in the air as they dived from a log.

Square duotone lotus
That visit to the Lotus Garden was a day I will never forget! Thank you Ann Bendixen for arranging it for me! I shot for two and one-half hours until my camera battery ran down. I've purchased another battery, but have never needed it since. . .
Processed with Nik duotone photoshop plug-in.

Swans Adore Fritos
I was surprised when my grandsons tossed them some. But we made a lot of new friends that day on Indian River.

Gull pair; the bow
No, I don't have a Hasselblad. But sometimes, I like to crop to a square
to focus on the essential part of the photograph. All these photographs
are flickering in my Flickr, along with 5000 others.
