Iris

I wandered around this afternoon trying to capture all the colors of the iris in this garden new to me. I keep thinking about the elderly couple who planted them . . . and wishing I could say thank you.

In Daylann's Yard

The mother quail turns her back on our Memorial Day revelry to tend to her chicks. I like the way she has crossed her legs in taking the last step.

She goes to kindergarten in the fall. She attended a small home-based nursery school and learned a great deal!

Portrait of grass

I meant to take more photos of the grasses in sunlight before my son weed-whacked some wild grassy places in my new yard in Idaho. But I never got it done and only this one taken at the tulip-portrait time remains. But the weed whacking will be good for the other plants--he found a rhubarb and something that might be a gooseberry.
