A bouquet of cottonwood leaves
After an intense rainstorm, my granddaughter picked up all these cottonwood leaves from the lawn, and presented them to me. I put them in the vase just the way she gave them to me. A short time later, she added the little blue flower, and the rose, which she pulled from the bush by grasping just above the thorns and under the blossom.
Little beloved blog--I've been neglecting you.

Iris
I wandered around this afternoon trying to capture all the colors of the iris in this garden new to me. I keep thinking about the elderly couple who planted them . . . and wishing I could say thank you.
